“[Andrieux] embodies a page from
the history of dance in flesh and bone, a sort of living memory”
—Le Monde
French choreographer and performance-maker Jérôme
Bel returns to Crossing the Line with a work created
for Cédric Andrieux, one of contemporary dance’s
most lauded artists. Providing a behind-the-scenes look at
Andrieux’s career, from his training in France to
his time with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and the
Lyon Opera Ballet, the performance integrates spoken English
with dance excerpts created by renowned choreographers like
Merce Cunningham and Trisha Brown. This work beautifully
opens the world of dance and performance, offering insights
into the iconic image of
the performer.
Running Time: 1 hour without an intermission
