Ariane Michel, the French artist and filmmaker creates ambitious film installations in which the piece's environment plays an essential creative role. The Screening takes you on a journey into the woods. The lights are extinguished and a film projection begins. It is a surreal experience. As you watch the film, you gradually get the impression of watching yourself on screen together with the wild animals in the surrounding woods. A visually stunning and unique cinematic adventure. The Screening will be held at the Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. There will be a short walk to the event site; suitable shoes & clothing advised. This event is part of Fiction & Non-Fiction, one of Crossing the Line 2011's three curatorial program perspectives. |
Venue Getting there: Option 1 – FIAF Shuttle + purchase tickets
Round-trip shuttle bus service will be available from FIAF (59th street) to Van Cortlandt Park. Shuttle will depart at 6:45pm for the 8pm screening. Tickets MUST be bought in advance. FIAF Members $20 Buy online Option 2 – Subway + view directions
Take the uptown 1 train to Van Cortlandt Park-242 St (last stop). Transfer to the BX09 bus (in front of the station) heading to Riverdale 262 St. Get off at Broadway & West 256th St (on Mosholu Avenue). You must reach this meeting point at least 15 minutes before the screening time. Crossing the Line volunteers will lead you to the event site. Approx 5-minute walk. |
