About Amélie Chabannes

Born in Paris in 1974, Chabannes currently lives and works in New York. Her work is an ongoing exploration of the notion of identity and its various derivations and representations. Many of her recent projects investigate the contrasted dialogue between the ever-changing psychological identityand the rigid boundaries of physical identification. Through much of Chabannes’ sculpture and installations, she aims to reveal the complexity of defining ourselves as individuals.
