“Cabaret messiah” (Time Out London) Justin Vivian Bond and special guest Miguel Gutierrez present a raucous and seductive evening of songs and stories about love. Originally commissioned by the Palais de Chaillot for Valentine’s Day, New York’s downtown performance scene meets Parisian elegance in this one-night only event.

About Justin Vivian Bond

Justin Vivian Bond
Justin Vivian Bond is well-known as half of the cabaret duo Kiki & Herb, which performed on and off-Broadway, and around the country to great acclaim until the infamous personas were retired in 2004. V is the author of the Lambda Literary Award-winning memoir, Backwards, And in High Heels, and v’s debut album, Dendrophile was released in 2011, followed by Silver Wells in 2012. Among V’s acting credits are standout performances in John Cameron Mitchell’s film Shortbus and the role of Herculine Barbin in Kate Bornstein’s groundbreaking play Hidden: A Gender. Still cabaret royalty, Mx Bond regularly performs elegant and subversive cabaret acts in New York City and around the world.

Miguel Gutierrez
Miguel Gutierrez is a Brooklyn-based artist who makes performances, called “one of our most provocative and necessary artistic voices” by Dance Magazine. His work engages philosophical questions about the search for meaning and joins a legacy of process-focused experimental dance, drawing on influences including endurance-based performance art, noise music, and hi stories of spectacle. He was a 2014 Whitney Biennial Artist and a 2010 Guggenheim Fellow. His work has been presented by American Realness, Festival D'Automne, Pompidou Centre, Walker Art Center, and BAM; he sits on the Artist Advisory Board for Danspace Project. He received a Bessie Award for his work as a dancer in John Jasperse Company. He is the author of WHEN YOU RISE (53rd State Press).
