From French
visual artist Cécile
Pitois comes an elegant installation that puts the spectator
at the center of attention. As part of a collaborative effort
made specifically for New York City, inhale-exhale from
A to C asks the viewer to interact with the artwork—to
walk on it, to sit on it, to think and breathe in its space—
with only one condition: that they do so mindfully.
In addition to visitors’ own explorations, Pitois invites three
outstanding choreographers to perform in the space.
These performances bring the body to the center of the
artwork to reveal how thought and thing, the mental and
the physical, can potentially relate in an intimate, symbiotic
whole.
