As the result of a three-month creative residency in Brooklyn, French choreographer Alexandre Roccoli will present the world premiere of a new work, "The Unbecoming Solo," based on the examination of isolation and displacement in contemporary society. The new work will question the construction of self through geographical, historical, and ethical standards of conduct. Challenging the status quo, and "crossing the line" into new territory is a creative inspiration. Facilitated by the artists of Chez Bushwick, the core of this program is to create substantial and lasting cultural exchange between the United States and France at the community level.
