November 1–25, 2008 |
 |
In
honor of Florence Gould Hall’s 20th Anniversary, FIAF has
created a month-long celebration, reflecting on the excellence
in French culture that this legendary venue has brought to
New York. The celebrations begin with an exploration of classic
animated films and continue throughout the month with a CinémaTuesdays series
dedicated to memorable films featuring classic French stars,
including Jeanne Moreau, Agnès Varda, and Charlotte Rampling.
Additionaly, Opéra Français de New York, featuring conductor
Yves Abel, will present the U. S. Premiere of Kurt Weill’s Marie
Galante—a fitting tribute to the ground-breaking programming
that has crossed the stage throughout the past twenty years. |
