FIAF
welcomes former American Ambassador to France, Craig Roberts
Stapleton, and his wife Dorothy W. Stapleton for
an evening of conversation about the art of entertaining
at the American embassy in Paris. Located in the heart of
Paris’s chic Faubourg Saint Honoré neighborhood, just a few
yards from the presidential palace, the magnificent nineteenth
century residence of the American ambassador to France served
as their home for four years. The mansion is the heart of
Franco-American relations, and an invitation to dine there
is much coveted by foreign dignitaries, French friends of
America, and Americans in Paris alike.
Mrs. Stapleton will also speak about her recently published
book, Elegant Entertaining, which she co-authored
with the embassy’s head chef, Philippe Excoffier. Sue
Massey Williamson, head of the embassy’s art program
during the Stapletons' years in Paris will also be attending
the event.
Join the Stapletons for a special discussion moderated by Caroline
Weber. Ms. Weber teaches French Literature at Columbia
University and is the famous author of Queen of Fashion about
Marie-Antoinette, a suspenseful and remarkably written book.
A reception will follow the conversation. Champagne will
be served, courtesy of Veuve Clicquot. |
