FIAF welcomes Constance Borde and Sheila Malovany-Chevallier, co-authors of the first complete and unabridged English translation of philosopher Simone de Beauvoir’s iconic masterpiece The Second Sex.

Borde and Malovany-Chevallier will talk about why a new translation was necessary, discussing the seminal work itself and its importance to women and men, and the feminist movement. They will also speak about their roles as translators and will share their thoughts about Simone de Beauvoir’s legacy as a philosopher.

The Second Sex, translated by Constance Borde and Sheila Malovany-Chevallier, published by Knopf, will go on sale April 13, 2010.
