French New Circus
Thursday & Friday, January 10 & 11
at 7pm |
Developed during the 1970s, the nouveau cirque style fuses the strictly theatrical elements of the circus with acrobatics and juggling, in order to recount a specific story. Forgoing animals and the spectacle of the traditional circus, nouveau cirque focuses instead on the physical dexterity and unique skills of each performer. Four French companies will present twenty minute vignettes, which highlight the stark originality of their techniques and the variety in their execution. |
