Fashion
Talks with Pamela Golbin
French haute couture meets New York style during FIAF's Fashion
Talks, hosted by Pamela Golbin, Curator in Chief of Twentieth-century
and Contemporary Fashion at the Musée de la Mode et du Textile
in Paris.
Diane von Furstenberg created the Wrap dress in 1974, and
forever redefined what it means to be a woman: classic, determined,
and chic. By 1976 Diane von Furstenberg was an international
sensation, having sold millions of her iconic wrap dress,
which inspired an entire generation of women to “Feel like
a woman. Wear a dress.” After a hiatus from fashion, she
reemerged on the New York fashion scene in 1997 with the
re-launch of the dress that started it all. Today, as a global
luxury lifestyle brand, DVF remains true to its values of
female power and independence, creating collections that
inspire, and are inspired by, women.
