Paper, Scissors!

The
FIAF Gallery presents a series of exhibits and talks exploring
the whimsical theme of
“Rock, Paper, Scissors!” as it relates to tools and
materials used in art and design.
“Rock” is central to the lithographic technique exemplified
by the Great
Masters of Lithography exhibition, in that it relies
on stones to transfer images; paper, as Carolle
Thibaut-Pomerantz and Béatrice
Coron will discuss, can serve as decorative art; and
scissors are used by artists like Odon to
craft paper into stunning works. Artist Greg
Lauren will create a site-specific installation of striking,
hand-sewn garment pieces, all made from paper. |
