Wine Tour de France 2012, FIAF's immensely popular six-tasting wine series featuring some of New York’s leading sommeliers and wine experts, kicks off on January 30 with Burgundy.
Ever wonder why Burgundy’s wines, though harvested from adjoining fields, exhibit dramatic differences in color, taste, and longevity? Sip and savor Burgundy’s Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays and learn about terroirs, the interaction of the soil, climate, and appellation, which gives each wine its unique characteristics.
Exploring top-rated appellations from Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, and Chablis, this tasting will feature six wines paired with a selection of cheeses and charcuterie.
Star sommelier John Ragan is currently Wine Director for Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. He was formerly at the Michelin Three-Star Eleven Madison Park where he received the James Beard Foundation Award for “Outstanding Wine Service” (2008) and the Wine Spectator Grand Award (2011).
