As a sommelier with over a decade of experience, Levi Dalton has influenced wine lists and shared his love of wine with patrons at top restaurants across the United States. Before taking a position with the talented team at Chef Daniel Boulud's new Boulud Sud, Levi worked as sommelier at several other destinations in Chef Boulud's group, including Restaurant Daniel and Café Boulud, all contributing to his knowledge of a diverse array of wines and cuisines of the world. He has gained equally valuable experience working alongside other esteemed chefs, serving as Head Sommelier at Chef Michael White's Italian restaurant Alto, and as Beverage Director for Chef Masa Takayama's acclaimed Masa. In addition, Levi has complemented his skill by studying with several Masters of Wine and the well-respected Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET).
Over the course of his career, Levi has received recognition in The New York Times, Saveur, the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Daily News, the New York Post, Wine & Spirits magazine, the Wine Spectator, Snooth, and several other print and web publications. Levi has often lent his time to distinguished tasting panels, and is himself the author of numerous wine and spirits articles. One such article on the subject of Fiano di Avellino was recently selected for publication in The Art of Eating magazine, where you’ll find it in issue number 85. Levi enjoys sharing his wine knowledge by way of staff wine seminars he orchestrates and has also led a class on the subject of navigating a restaurant wine list for students of New York University.
