Peau
d’âne
Jacques Demy, 1970.
Color. 90 min.
With Catherine Deneuve, Jean Marais, Jacques Perrin, Delphine Seyrig
Renowned director Jacques Demy fashions a uniquely delightful fairy tale set in a mysterious,
magical kingdom. A princess flees from her terrifying father under the
skin of his beloved donkey. Assisted only by her fairy godmother, she seeks
out friendship and love in an unfamiliar land. Inspired by Charles Perrault’s
beloved fairy tale, this is an enchanting film for both children and their
parents.
After the screening, Marie-Hélène Brabant, director of Le
Club Théâtre, and Florence Cavé Wasserman, curator of CinéKids, will lead a 30-minute workshop of activities inspired by Donkey
Skin. Children will paint and decorate their own dresses and crowns, each based around the themes and colors of the seasons. |
