In addition to her many short and
feature films, Chantal Akerman is well
known for her documentaries
and video installations. This onehour
sequence is the third part of
her video installation, From the Other
Side, which features the final minutes
of her 2002 documentary about
Mexicans crossing the border into the
United States. The film was projected
on a screen placed in the Arizona
desert at the U.S.-Mexico border, and
could be seen and heard on both
sides of the border.
