Dir. Albert Lamorisse, 1956. Color. 36 min.
With Pascal Lamorisse
While on a walk through Belleville, young
Pascal finds an enticing red balloon.
An unlikely friendship starts, as the boy
and his balloon wander throughout the
city. They explore the daily life of Paris
together, but soon must face the jealousy
of the neighborhood children. This classic
short film, here beautifully restored and
remastered, has delighted audiences for
over fifty years.
The screening will be followed
by an hour of activities and games
inspired by The Red Balloon, led by Le Club Théâtre director Marie-Hélène Brabant. |
