How
long is each term?
11 weeks in Fall, Winter and Spring. 10 weeks during the Summer.
There are also 5 ½ week Intensive sessions twice every term.
When
do you offer classes?
Mornings, afternoons and evenings, Monday through Thursday; mornings on Friday and mornings and afternoons on Saturday (see class hours below).
How
often do classes meet?
Classes meet once or twice a week. Beginning students must take 3 hours of class a week. You may choose once a week for 3 hours or twice a week for 1 ½ hours (Monday & Wednesday / Tuesday & Thursday). Other levels can meet once a week for 1 ½ hours or 3 hours.
How
many students are in each class?
Classes
have six to twelve students.
How
long will it take me to learn to speak French?
You
can expect to be conversant in French after completing
the four beginning terms of 11 weeks each (or the equivalent
intensive courses).
Will
I receive a certificate after completing a class?
A
certificate of completion can be sent to you upon request. You
may also take a proficiency exam certified by the French
Ministère de l'Education.
What
additional benefits do I receive as a student?
Students will receive
the following member-benefits (valid for 1
year, updated each time you register):

- borrowing privileges at our state-of-the-art
library, Haskell Library

Can I register after the
official registration period?
You may still register for a
course during the first 3 weeks of any 11-week or 10-week term at
the Language
Center office.
Where do I purchase my books?
Books are purchased and picked
up at the Books Booth during Registration. If you
register by fax, mail or online, you may pay for your
books and pick them up before your first class at the
Language Center office. View

a class?
