Classes in New Jersey

FIAF now offers classes in Upper Montclair, New Jersey in partnership with Alliance Française de Montclair. Classes available for toddlers, kids, teens, and adults at all levels of French proficiency. Private tuition also available upon request. All classes are taught by native speakers, who are fully certified to teach French as a foreign language.

Course descriptions:

Adults

Cook in French Workshop

à petits pas : French for Toddlers (ages 1-5)

Kids & Teens (ages 5-17)

French Story Hour (NJ-STORY Thu 4:50-5:50pm Apr 3 - Jun 12 - $225)

Children will learn new words & sentences and explore an exciting theme developed around funny & inspiring books. They will create unique artwork, which will be assembled into a book for each child to take home, a wonderful way to remember the stories and the new vocabulary.
Led by Anne-Sophie Roure.

Membership: Enrollment in most Language Center classes (except workshops) entitles the student to a one-year FIAF membership with access to the finest French cultural programs in NYC. Students will also get a one-year membership to Alliance Française de Montclair.

Cook in French (NJ-WKCOOK) 

Tuesdays, 6pm-9pm
$85 per workshop

Includes meal prepared. Advance registration & payment required.

March 25: Cake salé et blanquette de veau

April 22: Salade lyonnaise et gigot d'agneau avec gratin dauphinois

May 27: Terrine de courgette et saumon et poulet à la moutarde ancienne et aux champignons

June 24: Hors d'oeuvres : Tapenade aux olives noires / tomates Canapé au saumon / roquette et parmesan / chèvre aux herbes de provence Tomates cerises farcies / Champignons farcis au jambon cru

Learn techniques of traditional French cuisine in a typical French home in Upper Montclair, NJ.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cook, you'll enjoy the class which is lively, informative, and fun. Enjoy the meal you prepared together! The instructor will present the recipe in French and give vocabulary and hints on culture and civilization. If necessary, some English will be provided.

Objectives:

- Prepare French recipes step-by-step with an experienced cook
- Broaden vocabulary around food and cooking
- Learn more on quality ingredients, cooking techniques & culinary history
- Get great shopping tips
- Share a delicious meal and meet new people in French

The address of the Cooking class will be given on registration.
