Grammar

GR350 (Level B2)
GR450 (Level C1)

This innovative, corrective course is tailored for advanced students, teachers of French, translators/interpreters, or other professionals who want to master the French language. It provides the opportunity for an in-depth review of the major elements of French grammar with emphasis on those points that are the most difficult for English speakers.

In this course you will:

  • widen and fine-tune your overall knowledge of the French grammar
  • learn to identify deceptive cognates a.k.a “false friends” and avoid common traps
  • question and challenge your knowledge of both languages, i.e. French and English
  • become aware of the most frequent errors made by English speakers
  • learn how to correct and thus avoid them through a clear understanding of their origin in the interference with the English language
  • develop a different analytical approach to the French grammar and thus a better understanding and mastery of the French language
  • grasp some grammatical and lexical subtleties of the French language
  • consolidate your written and oral skills and thus acquire better proficiency and more confidence
