Literature & History (LTH450)

Level C1

Spring 2008
LTH450 with Zarina Yonossi

Course Description:
This course is designed to increase your understanding of the most important moments in French history as imagined and rendered by well renowned writers. You will learn about politics, religion, social and cultural events, the life of notable individuals, and compare reality and fiction.

In this course you will:

  • Widen your vocabulary in the specific area of literature (descriptions, emotions) and history
  • Broaden your knowledge of the major events in the history and civilization of France from the medieval period until today as seen by its great writers
  • Improve your reading comprehension
  • Become skilled at summarizing and discussing a text
