This course investigates the contents and style of news as presented on the internet versions of French newspapers, television and radio. While navigating the various websites in class, students will discuss the news, compare coverage, and learn the vocabulary and style pertinent to the media.

In this course you will:

• Develop your vocabulary as pertains to the press
• Understand French journalistic style in the press and on the air
• Write a press article on a current events subject
• Have an exposure to the French style and viewpoint in the media
• Familiarize yourself with issues of concern and debate in contemporary French society
