Learn essential French expressions and their uses to avoid misunderstandings. For example: you must address everyone as “Madame” or “Monsieur” even to a police officer. French never ask “Comment allez-vous?” the first time they meet someone or to a cab driver, vendor, etc. If you need a free glass of water, just ask for a “Carafe d’eau”. Both words “Demi” and “Moitié” mean half; what’s the difference? How to say a “Block” in French? How to ask for “Medium rare” cooking? Where to buy everyday clothing and basic necessities? How much should you tip cab drivers and waiters? Learn about important driving rules specific to France, safety precautions to keep in mind, and more.
