Instructor: Thierry Bidault de l'Isle
Thierry Bidault de l'Isle was born in Bourgogne (Burgundy)
but was baptised with Champagne per family tradition. He
tasted his first glass of Romanée at 16 years old at a
dinner for the Chevaliers du Tastevin, a Burgundy brotherhood
in which his father was an officer. Thierry studied literature
and political science in Paris and it was then, at just
28 years old, that he began to appreciate wines (in moderation)
and to study its origins and varieties. In 2004, he wrote
a booklet about wine entitled “Vins, Champagne, etc.”
