FIAF combines the best of education and culture, offering students a unique immersion in the French language at our flagship Beaux Art building in Midtown Manhattan. FIAF also has satellite locations in Brooklyn and in Montclair, NJ.

More Than Just A Language Center
Our students automatically receive a complimentary FIAF Membership. As members, they enjoy the additional advantage of practicing French outside the classroom through our rich cultural offerings and our Haskell Library, the largest private French library in the United States.
FIAF presents over 120 cultural events every year in our three venues: Le Skyroom, Tinker Auditorium, and Florence Gould Hall. Events include the best of French cinema every Tuesday with CinéSalon film screenings and wine receptions, theater performances straight from Paris in our 360-seat theater Florence Gould Hall, Art de Vivre panel discussions, wine tastings, and talks by today’s hottest French authors. Members enjoy free admission to CinéSalon and discounted tickets to all our cultural events!
One of the leading French libraries in the US is right here at FIAF! Our Haskell Library features an unparalleled collection of French books, DVDs, and music. Our most exciting offering is our new digital library, Culturethèque, featuring French eBooks and more than 400 French magazines you can read on your computer or tablet.

All of FIAF’s 60 teachers are native French speakers! They come from diverse backgrounds and have years of expertise in teaching French all over the world. FIAF ensures that our teachers are up-to-date in the most recent methodologies and technologies through regular specialized training workshops led by experts in the field of French education. Convenient and Flexible Schedule
FIAF offers classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening on weekdays and Saturdays. With sessions beginning every 5 weeks and paces to fit all lifestyles (from a leisurely 1.5 hours per week to an intensive 3 hours per day), we help students design their ideal learning experience. Private lessons, offered anytime at FIAF or at a student’s home or office, offer the ultimate flexibility!
With a maximum of 12 students per class, students enjoy individual attention and plenty of opportunities to participate in class.
Classes are offered for every budget, with hourly rates that are among the lowest in the city.
All FIAF classrooms are equipped with SmartBoards™—interactive whiteboard technology that makes learning a language more dynamic, multimedia-rich, and effective.
Brand new textbooks have been introduced this fall for Beginner students. Key updates include a digital version for your tablet or laptop, exercises that tap deeper into student creativity, culturally relevant topics, and a multimedia dimension that includes podcasts, videos and more. Textbooks also have a Smartboard and online component that will enrich your classroom experience.
