Description
Making
books in French is a unique way to expose your child to reading
and writing, as well as having fun with books in a very creative
way! These one of a kind workshops not only encourage creativity
but also enhance visual and verbal literacy skills, and promote
reading and love of books.
Have you ever thought of filling your library’s shelves
with books made by your own child? What can be created with
a single sheet of paper, some recycled material or construction
paper... magnificent books that we can fill with texts and
drawings, nice presents to give to other children, to share
with the entire family, and unique works of art to keep forever!
These workshops will be about learning how to make books,
from accordion and animal-shaped books to fun pop-ups. While
looking at books we’ll be designing our own, deciding on
the shape, the size, the font, and the cover.
What’s so great about making books in French?
- We use the language in a fun and creative way
- We refine our language skills
- We develop our self-expression by telling stories and
expressing our feelings
- We get into the habit of using a dictionary
- We practice reading our stories aloud
