Description

Have fun in the kitchen while learning French! Innovative cooking workshops for children designed to inspire, excite, and encourage love of healthy food. Feed the curiosity of your growing gourmet!

Participants increase their French vocabulary; learn about techniques, tools, utensils, and ingredients; pick up basics of etiquette, nutrition, and kitchen safety; and of course, enjoy the French specialties created.

This course will offer:

  • A feeling of accomplishment that can increase confidence and self-esteem
  • Refinement of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Increased vocabulary and reading comprehension skills
  • Social skills including learning how to be a team player, taking turns, and working together to achieve a goal
  • Scientific skills including chemistry, physics, cause and effect, and predicting outcomes
  • A sense of responsibility that comes with following directions and delegating tasks
  • Increased patience and sense of time management
  • Familiarity and willingness to try new foods
  • Understanding of different cooking techniques and processes
  • An outlet for creativity and a chance to have fun in French!

Instructor Sylvie Berger was raised in Paris where she received her French pastry degree and worked as a pastry assistant at La Grande Epicerie. She also worked as a culinary consultant for Cuisine TV in Paris.
