FIAF invites you to join the French Brooklyn-based artist Nathalie Trovato on an exploration of the arts and crafts from francophone countries around the world. During each workshop, children embark on a rich artistic and cultural experience where they will discover various techniques such as weaving, papier mâché and threading paper while developing their skills and their understanding of simple instructions in French.
The voyage will guide children home with the crafts they've made: an African mask, a djembe, a rainstick or a Canadian paper quilt.

Ms. Trovato is a French artist who has discovered book-making
by first making her own books and then by working with
her very inspiring children. She has collaborated on and
designed many book illustrations, and her work has been
presented in a number of magazines. She has done a number
of book-making workshops with children in several schools
throughout New York and is always delighted to share her
love for making books with children.
