School Field Trips

Come discover a bit of France at FIAF! An ideal place for a French excursion, the Haskell Library welcomes school groups of all ages for a cultural and educational experience.

A visit to the FIAF Library may be held as part of an all-day class field trip to participate in other French-related activities in New York City, such as the FIAF Young Audience Program, viewing the French art collections at the Metropolitan or MOMA Museums, visits to French bakeries and shops, attending a movie, or eating lunch in a French restaurant.

Program

  • Welcome by the Library Director and a presentation of the French Institute Alliance Française
  • Tour of the Library by the Library staff and presentation of materials: periodicals, language-learning materials, books, etc.
  • Discussion with a Library staff on the importance of learning French
  • Fun educational activity (song, game, etc, depending on the language level of the students)
  • 20-min Q&A session on France or the French-speaking world with a Library staff member
