FIAF Gallery presents a site-specific group exhibition featuring specially-commissioned pieces by three leading women contemporary artists from Morocco: Amina Agueznay, Safaa Erruas, and Najia Mehadji.
Amina Agueznay will present a woven piece created in collaboration with twenty-three women needle workers; Safaa Erruas will create one of her distinctive installations, echoing Agueznay's work; and Najia Mehadji will draw inspiration from the movements of the Sufi whirling dervishes to create black and white prints.
Through their work, these artists will reflect on ideas of existence, the origin of life, sustainability, and gender, creating a starting point for conversation about women in modern Morocco.
