A Two-Part Program!

Part One
Keynote Talk with André Azoulay & Faouzi Skali

World Nomads is honored to welcome key Moroccan cultural visionaries André Azoulay, Royal Advisor to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and Faouzi Skali, a widely recognized cultural and intellectual force, for a special evening conversation moderated by renowned scholar, author, and political theorist Dr. Benjamin Barber.

Mr. Azoulay and Dr. Skali will share their experiences and perspectives from years spent dedicated to the preservation of traditions, while leading cultural and economic development for the cities of Fes and Essaouira. They are both deeply committed to advancing interfaith peace initiatives to promote tolerance and respect for sustainable, pluralistic communities.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Azoulay is unable to attend and will participate via video message.

Part Two
His Majesty King Mohammed VI To Honor
Gnaoua Maalem Abdellah El Gourd
and jazz great Randy Weston

To preserve Morocco's rich, diverse cultural heritage, His Majesty King Mohammed VI bestows one-time royal awards on the most distinguished Moroccan artists to encourage them to preserve their artistic excellence and sustain the country's artistic heritage. On rare occasions, international artists are recognized for their contribution to Morocco's culture and society in a way that enriches it further.

Tangiers based Gnaoua maestro Abdellah El Gourd and jazz pianist Randy Weston, US National Heritage and Guggenheim Award winner, will be present at FIAF on May 11 to receive royal honors for their decades long collaboration by a representative of His Majesty the King.
