One of Tunisia’s most exciting and inf luential contemporary artists, Emel Mathlouthi gave voice to the Arab Spring through her powerful, fiery music. Hear her perform songs, banned in Tunisia under President Ben Ali, from her most recent album Kelmti Horra (My Word is Free).

Patron of vocal music since 1987, the Fondation Orange contributes to the discovery of new talents and brings new vocal groups to prominence in classical music, world music, and jazz. The Foundation has supported singer Emel Mathlouthi and her group since 2012, including her concert at FIAF in New York.
